Dental Hygienist - SMDG - Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting optimal oral health. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Duties

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review and oral examinations.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures.
Document patient information accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
Utilize Dentrix software for patient management and documentation.
Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the dentist.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies.
Manage medical imaging procedures as required, including X-rays.
Implement aseptic techniques to maintain a safe and sterile environment during treatments.
Provide support in pediatric dentistry as needed, ensuring a positive experience for young patients.
Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient care through four-handed dentistry techniques.

Qualifications

Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
Proficiency in documentation review and management of medical records.
Experience with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
Knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
Excellent communication skills and ability to educate patients effectively.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
