Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Function Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of general dentistry practices, as well as familiarity with pediatric dentistry.
Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
Take dental X-rays as needed and ensure proper handling of imaging equipment.
Record patient vital signs and maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling, confirming appointments, and handling patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic environment.
Support pediatric patients with care and comfort during their visits.

Requirements

Previous experience as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
Proficiency in using software for patient management is desireable.
Knowledge of general dentistry procedures, anatomy, and infection control standards.
Ability to take X-rays safely and effectively.
Strong communication skills to interact with patients of all ages, particularly children in pediatric dentistry.
Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Certification in CPR or First Aid is a plus.
Certification as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant is required.
