Registered Dental Hygienist - Clark Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics - Montclair, NJ

Job Title: Dental HygienistPart time - 4 to 16 hours per week - M-F - no weekends
Summary: Responsible for the treatment of patient periodontal health accompanied by patient education by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Provide oral or written pre-operative and post-operative treatment instructions.Review patient charts prior to appointments, update health histories and document blood pressure and other information that may affect treatments.Provide periodontal treatments to include scaling, root planing, curettage, periodontal charting and polishing.Take and develop extra and intra oral radiographs as treatment indicates.Promote exceptional dental care by providing periodontal health education through demonstration and appropriate literature.Document services rendered and other related information in patients' charts following each appointment.Chart necessary future dental treatments as dictated by the Physician during examinations.Maintain and perform proper upkeep of operatory equipment at all times to include:general cleaningsharpening and sterilizing hand instrumentsdisinfecting operatories between appointmentsClean treatment areas at the end of each day to include flushing the evacuation system, emptying trash and preparing treatment rooms for the following business day.Remain aware of supply/stock levels available in the office and communicate effectively with co-workers to place orders.Provide support to office personnel when primary responsibilities are completed.Perform other related duties as assigned.
