Job SummarySolo Private well established General Dental practice in Bethany, CT in search of a Dental Hygienist for Monday 10:45-7:30, Tuesday 7:15-6:00, Friday 6:45-5:30 During June, July, and August we work Thursday 6:45-5:30 with Fridays off.This is a high quality, friendly, relaxed, patient focused practice in a unique setting operatories with modern equipment have 8 foot sliding glass doors with views of woods and wildlife, 30 foot high cathedral ceiling. Exceptionally nice clients.
Must be computer literate.
Hygienist is given 1 hour appointments for prophy, 4 digital bite wings, and exam.Experience with Dentrix and Digital Radiography, preferred.
Background in dental assisting as applies to knowledge of restorative procedures a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages.
Review patient documentation and maintain accurate records in compliance with dental regulations.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist in the diagnosis of oral diseases by reviewing medical and dental histories, as well as conducting screenings.
Implement infection control procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Utilize Eaglesoft software for patient management and documentation purposes.
Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to provide comprehensive patient care.
Provide support in four-handed dentistry techniques during procedures.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.

ExperienceCandidates should possess the following skills and experience:

Proficiency in documentation review, including familiarity with dental terminology and medical coding.
Knowledge of infection control standards and practices within a dental setting.
Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is preferred.
Background in dental assisting is advantageous but not mandatory.
Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus.
Strong knowledge of anatomy as it relates to oral health is essential.
