Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. You will be responsible for performing patient assessments, cleaning teeth, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and performing oral examinations.
Clean teeth using specialized instruments, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and care.
Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides to help maintain patients' oral health.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper medical coding for procedures performed.
Assist with dental procedures as needed, providing support to the dentist and ensuring patient comfort.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Skills
Proficient in patient assessment techniques and understanding of anatomy related to dentistry.
Knowledgeable in medical coding, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance.
Familiarity with dental assisting systems and general dentistry practices.
Strong grasp of medical terminology and dental terminology essential for effective communication within the practice.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and provide exceptional customer service.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team while demonstrating independence in performing duties.
