Registered Dental Hygienist - Conrath Family Dental Care - Athens, OH

We are searching for a Dental Hygienist to help cover maternity leave our family friendly dental practice. We are hoping to find someone to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. We focus on patient educated and communication-no production requirements. We strive to provide pleasurable experiences to both our child and adult patients. Office hours are Monday-Thursday 8-5. We will take any help we can get!
Wages $40+ depending on experience
Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before, during and after their appointments while still delivering quality care.
Sterilize dental instruments properly
Conduct initial oral screenings and update health history
Identify oral conditions such as gingivitis or periodontitis and educate patient on appropriate home care
Scale and polish patients’ teeth, apply fluoride, arrestin, etc.
Educate patients of all ages on proper oral care (by demonstrating, for example, proper brushing techniques)
Take radiographs
Assist dentists with identifying and selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient ( digital charts and radiographs)
Monitor supplies

Skills

knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
Experience with the proper care and use of dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Diploma in Dental Hygiene
Valid license to practice in the state of Ohio
