Dental Assistant - SmileWell Family Dentistry & Periodontics - Torrance, CA

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to assist in various dental procedures, including those related to prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
Responsibilities

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Manage medical documentation and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
Perform infection control procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
Take dental radiographs as directed by the dentist.
Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up care as needed.
Provide support in administrative tasks such as filing, billing, and maintaining inventory of dental supplies.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic is preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential.
Familiarity with prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and infection control practices is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care.
Certification or training in dental assisting is a plus but not mandatory.
Must possess strong communication skills and a compassionate approach towards patients.
