Registered Dental Hygienist - Magna Dental - Magna, UT

OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Dental Hygienist with a strong background and interest in periodontal care to join our dental team. The ideal candidate is skilled in performing periodontal assessments, non-surgical periodontal therapy (SRP), and maintaining ongoing periodontal health for patients with gum disease. You will play a vital role in patient education and early intervention for periodontal issues
Duties

Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess the oral health of patients.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Document patient histories and treatment plans accurately in accordance with practice protocols.
Perform vital sign checks and maintain accurate records of patient health.
Utilize Dentrix software for scheduling, documentation, and patient management.
Apply knowledge of dental terminology to communicate effectively with both patients and team members.
Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for young patients.
Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Conduct medical imaging procedures as needed, ensuring high-quality diagnostic results.
Review documentation for completeness and accuracy before submitting for billing or insurance purposes.
Collaborate with dentists and other staff to provide comprehensive patient care.

Skills

Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication.
Proficient in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and interpretation.
Familiarity with dental terminology relevant to procedures and treatments.
Experience in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Administer local anesthesia and/or nitrous oxide as permitted by state law.
Expertise in infection control measures to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulations.
Competence in medical imaging techniques for diagnostic purposes.
Attention to detail in documentation review for accuracy and completeness.
Solid understanding of anatomy as it relates to dental health.
