Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, including sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take dental radiographs (Dexis system) as needed and ensure proper patient positioning.
Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and any other relevant information.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups, including handling inquiries as a dental receptionist when necessary.
Utilize dental technology such as 3D scanners for impressions and other diagnostic tools.
Support pediatric patients with empathy and understanding, creating a comfortable environment for children.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional care in specialties such as prosthodontics.

Skills

Proficiency in dental terminology to communicate effectively within the clinical setting.
Experience in assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to cater to younger patients effectively.
Familiarity with prosthodontics procedures is a plus for candidates looking to specialize further.
Ability to operate dental software systems like Dentrix, for patient management and record keeping.
Competence in taking vital signs to monitor patient health during visits.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining clinic operations.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and team members alike.
