Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with both the dental team and patients.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing necessary instruments and materials.
Maintain accurate medical records and patient information using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
Perform infection control procedures, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques.
Operate 3D scanners for imaging as required for various dental treatments.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively, including acting as a dental receptionist when needed.
Support various specialties including general dentistry, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry as necessary.
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory and sterilization areas.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic is advantageous.
Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques is essential.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and empathy towards patients.
Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is a plus.
