Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist with various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and maintain the treatment room, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform basic dental procedures such as taking X-rays, impressions, and applying fluoride treatments.
Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office using Dentrix or similar systems.
Support pediatric dentistry by creating a comfortable environment for young patients.
Assist in endodontic procedures as needed, ensuring all materials are prepared and available.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
Experience
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required; we welcome enthusiastic candidates willing to learn.
Familiarity with medical coding and documentation is advantageous.
Knowledge of general dentistry practices is essential; experience in pediatric dentistry or endodontics is a plus.
Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix will be beneficial.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations.
