Summary
This position will require chair-side assistance, sterilization, dental equipment maintenance, and proper patient record updates. The assistant will also help to make patients as comfortable as possible, prepare them for treatment, and cross-train in front office skills. The ideal candidate works well with people and has a positive attitude. We are seeking a full time assistant (4 day work week).
Responsibilities
· Assisting the dentist during treatment procedures when needed
· Taking digital dental radiographs (x-rays)
· Asking about the patient's medical history
· Performing infection control protocol
· Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
· Reassuring patients who are nervous
· Providing patients with post-op instructions
· Performing patient record updates via software
· Maintaining dental equipment
· Assisting with front office duties occasionally
Requirements
·Knowledge of dental teeth numbering and terminology is essential
·Certification or prior dental assisting is preferred, but not required
· Eager to learn
· Some endodontic knowledge is preferable but we are willing to train
· Strong customer care and communication skills
· Dependable attendance
