Dental Assistant - David L. Gordley D.D.S., LLC - Slippery Rock, PA

We are looking for a dental assistant with a great personality and a passion for dentistry! Experience is preferred but we are willing to train a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude! We have the latest in technology including a digital scanner, portable X-ray unit, and CT scanner. We love our patients and believe they deserve the best dentistry we can provide!
Hours:
Monday 8-5
Tuesday 8-5
Wednesday 8-5
Thursday 12-7
Possible flexibility if part-time is a better option for you!
Pay based on experience.
Responsibilities

Prepare customers for treatment ensuring their comfort and escort them to checkout desk following treatment
Review treatment with patients and accurately answer questions about treatment
Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed for treatment
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Schedule appointments
Maintain accurate patient medical history and update records as needed

Skills

Proven experience as dental assistant or a high motivation to learn a new career as a dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments, set-ups, procedures and sterilization methods
X-ray certification or willingness to pursue training
Dental surgical experience preferred
Basic computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
