Dental Assistant - Akel Dental - Spring Hill, FL

Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, performing basic dental tasks, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients.
Responsibilities:- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and materials- Take and develop dental x-rays- Prepare and maintain dental materials, such as composite fillings and impression materials- Provide post-operative instructions to patients- Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring models and trimming plaster casts- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems (Eaglesoft)- Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred- Current certification in dental assisting preferred- Proficiency in medical documentation and record keeping- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments- Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and equipment- Ability to take accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.)- Strong knowledge of CAD software for digital impressions is a plus- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
