Position Overview

We have a unique dental office with a Prosthodontist and General Dentist offering a full range of services up to advanced oral rehabilitation. Our staff and patients also benefit from our âin-houseâ lab which includes advanced technology such as CBCT, intraoral scanning, and 3-D printing. Our growing practice is located in East Louisville, and we are looking for an experienced Lead Dental Assistant to come and assist with life-changing care of our patients.

Job Responsibilities = People and Clinical Oversight
ï· Oversee Dentist/Clinical Work Area
ï· Oversee Sterilization - Create weekly sterilization assignments (hygienists/dental assistants)
ï· Oversee equipment maintenance, supply stocking and ordering â create weekly
assignments (hygienists/dental assistants)
ï· Ensure effective and timely communication with lab regarding patient case needs
ï· Ensure effective timely surgery preparation and assistance
ï· Involvement in the patient âafter hoursâ call process when needed
Job Responsibilities = General
ï· Works with Dentist to create a compassionate and caring treatment environment
ï· Delivers outstanding clinical care through caliber of treatment, patient relationships and patient education
ï· Assists Dentist through diagnostic tests (i.e. x-rays and other tests), gathering health history
and other relevant patient information
ï· Helps maintain equipment and follows CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety, cleanliness and
infection control
ï· Assists Dentist in completing clinical notes in a timely manner
ï· Utilizes established protocol for preparing treatment rooms
ï· Sterilizes and delivers instruments to treatment area and provides instruments for dentistâs
access.
ï· Daily cleans work area â trash, floors, blinds, etc.
ï· Provides feedback on how to improve the new patient and existing patient experience
ï· Maintains professional and technical skills by attending educational workshops, reviewing
publications and networking.
ï· Has a âteam firstâ attitude by positively interacting with co-workers and promoting the
dentists and the practice
ï· Other responsibilities as assigned or needed by their dentist or the practice
Prior Experience and Skills
ï· Minimum 3+ years preferred with general or specialist in role assisting a General Dentist, Endodontist or Prosthodontist
ï· Preferred EDDA Certificate / EFDA Certificate
ï· High School Diploma required; Dental Assistant Certification preferred
ï· X-Ray and CPR Certification required
ï· Prior use of Open Dental, Dexis or related systems
ï· Service Oriented; Builds positive relationships with dentists, staff and patients
ï· Prior exemplification of both strong character and work ethic in the workplace
ï· Prior leadership experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
