Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This person must hold an Iowa Dental Assistant License (or completing the process within 6 months of hire) and CPR certificate.
Responsibilities
Assist Dentist during various dental procedures.
Prepare and maintain the dental operatories by ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use meeting OSHA standards and CDC guidelines.
Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
Take radiographs and vitals, using a digital scanner.
Manage patient records accurately, including medical histories and treatment plans, confirming insurance and billing information.
Inform Front Office/Billing support groups of each patient's procedures and Dentist's directions for follow-up including pre/post instructions and next appointment.
Provide support in managing the flow of patients within the clinic to enhance their experience.
Qualifications
Some experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with knowledge of general dentistry practices along with some computer skills.
Understanding of anatomy related to dental health and procedures.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate medical records.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff alike.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
