Dental Hygienist - James J Teague DDS - Asheville, NC

We are looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist who is passionate about their career and is patient oriented. We are a busy and well established practice with over 30 years of experience. We take pride in forming lasting relationships with our patients and providing them with the highest standard of care. At Teague Dentistry we aim to make our patients feel comfortable by creating a friendly atmosphere and assisting with any dental anxieties or concerns on a personal level.
Responsibilities

Recognize and address patient's anxieties/concerns
Sterilize dental instruments
Conduct initial screenings and health history reviews
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Clean patients’ teeth
Educate patients of all ages on proper home care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
Take X-rays or dental impressions
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Monitor supplies

Skills

Have a valid dental hygiene license
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
Experience with Dentrix recommended, but not required
Outstanding communication skills
A teamwork oriented personality
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
