Summary
As a Dental Receptionist at Mayo Dental, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This position is essential for maintaining smooth operations within our practice while upholding our commitment to personalized patient care.
Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and manage the reception area to create a welcoming environment.
Schedule appointments and manage patient records using Athenahealth software.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
Assist patients with inquiries regarding services, insurance, and billing.
Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information as necessary.
Coordinate with dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the office.
Handle phone calls professionally, addressing patient needs promptly and courteously.
Support administrative tasks as needed to enhance office efficiency.

Qualifications

Proven experience in medical administrative support or as a receptionist in a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical record management.
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar medical software is preferred.
Ability to type efficiently (10 key typing skills are beneficial).
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Basic understanding of ICD-9 coding is a plus but not required.
