Dental Hygienist - Joseph Bousaba Dentistry - Richmond, VA

Job Summary
We are a small, patient-focused dental practice seeking a reliable and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our close-knit team starting at one day a week. This position will likely transition into 2-3 working days per week. Our ideal candidate is someone who values patient relationships, takes pride in delivering excellent clinical care, and thrives in a collaborative, low-stress work environment. This role involves performing comprehensive dental hygiene services and supporting our dentist and team in maintaining a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate practice.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct patient assessments, including medical history review and vital signs when needed
Perform thorough dental cleanings, periodontal therapy, and apply preventive treatments
Educate patients on home care routines and the importance of oral health
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in accordance with office protocols
Uphold strict infection control and sterilization procedures to ensure patient and staff safety
Collaborate closely with the dentist and team during exams and treatment planning
Assist with front-office tasks or scheduling as needed in a small-office setting
Utilize Eaglesoft for charting, documentation, and communication

Qualifications & Skills

Current Dental Hygiene license in Virginia
Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, hygiene procedures, and infection control
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach
Proficient in documentation, time management, and digital charting systems (Eaglesoft experience a plus)
Comfortable working in a small team and willing to contribute wherever needed
Calm, friendly demeanor and a professional presence with both patients and coworkers
Prior hygiene experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
