Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Record and update patient information, including medical history and vital signs, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the office, including acting as a dental receptionist when required.
Utilize dental systems effectively, including experience with Epic for patient management.
Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, demonstrating patience and understanding with young patients.
Support the dentist with 3D scanning technology when applicable, enhancing treatment planning and patient outcomes.
ExperienceThe ideal candidate will possess:
Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Knowledge of medical coding practices is a plus but not mandatory.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety protocols and patient care standards.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to manage individual tasks efficiently.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
