Orthodontic Dental Assistant - Kids Dental - Puyallup, WA

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthodontists. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

Assist orthodontists during procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
Maintain an aseptic technique to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Take and develop dental radiographs as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Manage patient records accurately, including medical histories and treatment plans.
Schedule appointments and manage the front desk duties as necessary, including using Dentrix or Eaglesoft software.
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinical area, adhering to infection control protocols.
Provide support in pediatric orthodontic cases, ensuring a welcoming environment for younger patients.

Requirements

Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar dental role is preferred.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and general dentistry practices is essential.
Familiarity with dental software such as Denticon is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of anatomy related to dental health and orthodontics.
Experience with medical records management is beneficial.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while providing excellent patient care.
Strong interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with pediatric patients and their families.
