Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Our practice has been a part of the Northwest Hills community for over 40 years.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, fillings, crown preps and dental implant restorations.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take IO Photos and dental X-rays utilizing Overjet AI software while adhering to safety protocols.
Be proficient with iTero Scanner for impressions.
Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental , ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
Support four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Assist in managing patient appointments and follow-up visits.
Requirements
Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry.
Minimum of two (2) years experience or knowledge in general family dentistry.
Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
Previous experience working in a private dental clinic setting is highly desirable.
Ability to operate dental equipment, including 3D scanners and X-ray machines.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient communication.
Certification as a Dental Assistant and Texas Radiology License is required.
