Dr. Lance McGavin completed his commitment as a military dentist last year and created White Palm Dental to provide a place where patients of all ages can come to receive exceptional dental treatment in an honest and friendly environment.

*Job Overview*
We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our professional and friendly team at White Palm Dental. This position will begin right away. The ideal candidate will assist Dr. Lance McGavin in providing quality dental care to patients while helping to improve the efficiency of the office. Youâll ensure excellent customer service by being 100% committed to helping our patients and 100% committed to assisting Dr. McGavin in tasks that are requested of you.
You should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. You must have strong interpersonal skills and be highly capable of providing direct or indirect patient care. Most importantly, you must be highly professional, and someone who promotes a collaborative and positive work environment.
We have a small team, with two hygienists, one assistant, one sterilization tech, one dentist, and one front desk administrator. The ideal candidate will be able to commit to a full time position for at least the next 12 months to allow for stability as White Palm Dental goes through the growing process.
Some benefits are provided. Hours: Tuesday - Friday; 7:30 - 4:30.
*Responsibilities*
- Welcome patients to the dental office
- Prepare patients for their visit and ensure their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Interact with patients when the dentist is with another patient
- Sterilize instruments according to industry standards
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
- Fabricate provisional crowns and perform any other chairside tasks requested
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Perform child prophies (under 14 yrs old)
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the treatment rooms clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
- Maintain professionalism at all times
- Be a team-player who is optimistic and drama free
*Requirements*
- Certification or diploma in dental assisting
- Proven experience as dental assistant (4+ years experience desired)
- Xray certified and ability to take digital X-rays
- Additional certification or training is beneficial but not required (e.g. EFDA)
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and HIPAA regulations
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Knowledge of dental patient management systems
- Familiarity with dental clinic operations and patient care
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
