Dental Assistant - Wayside Family Dental - Sanford, FL

Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist to provide quality dental care to our patients. Your role will involve assisting with procedures, taking X-rays, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for our patients.
Responsibilities:- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing support as needed- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dentist- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection control protocols- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medical history- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
Experience:- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant preferred- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment- Familiarity with medical terminology and dental procedures- Proficiency in using dental software systems for record keeping- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including children- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record patient information- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures is a plus
