Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in the overall management of patient oral health. This role requires a strong understanding of general dentistry practices, medical terminology, and patient documentation. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure optimal patient experiences and outcomes.
Responsibilities

Conduct thorough dental cleanings and assessments for patients.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Assist in the documentation of patient medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Review medical histories and perform necessary screenings.
Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans based on patient needs.
Maintain accurate records of treatments performed and update medical coding as required.
Provide care to patients across all age groups, including pediatrics.
Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.

Qualifications

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Strong knowledge of general dentistry procedures and anatomy.
Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation review processes.
Experience with medical coding is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and staff.
Ability to provide compassionate patient care while ensuring comfort during procedures.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate records.
Previous experience in a dental setting is preferred but not required.
