Dental Hygienist - Velux Dental - Syracuse, UT

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental clinic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental hygiene care to patients while ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Duties

Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Assess and record patients' vital signs as part of the initial examination process.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care to promote overall dental health.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and maintain a sterile environment.
Utilize knowledge of medical coding for accurate billing and insurance processing related to dental services.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care, including working with pediatric patients when necessary.

Requirements

Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Utah.
Experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
Proficient understanding of dental terminology and medical records management.
Familiarity with infection control standards and HIPAA regulations is essential.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Previous experience in pediatrics is a plus but not mandatory.
