The Role:
Dental Assistants are critical to our continuum of care. The Dental Assistant makes sure patient treatment runs smoothly from prepping patients for oral exams, assisting dentists throughout procedures, assisting team members in obtaining and maintaining patient histories, completing radiographic images, intraoral photos and scans, educating patients in oral care, and ensuring the sterility of instruments. As both a patient and clinician advocate, our Dental Assistants are a fundamental part of creating and maintaining our ideal customer environment. We are willing and happy to do on the job training to enhance your skills! It is essential that our dental assistants work well with others and are willing to help, as we consider ourselves a team.
The Responsibilities:

Prepares operatory for the patients and is an integral part of the patient experience
Prepares patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and preparing customers
Provides information to patients and team members by answering questions and requests.
Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; positioning instruments for dentists’ access; suctioning; passing instruments
Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth
Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts
Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances
Documents dental care services by charting in patient records
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Protects patients and other team members by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
Demonstrates high moral and ethical character, including the ability to maintain compliance with the American Dental Association and federal or state regulations

Qualifications:

Licensed Dental Assistant, (EDDA a plus!)
CPR/BLS Certification
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Engaging personality with the ability to easily learn new ideas and concepts and apply them to their role in the practice
Willingness to work together with other members of our team

Physical Requirements:
This position may require occasional lifting of light to moderate amounts of weight (e.g., boxes of medical/facility supplies). Candidates applying for this position must also have the ability to sit and stand for periods of time.
