My Ellicott City Dentist is growing, and we’re excited to welcome a Hygiene Assistant / Dental Assistant to our friendly and dynamic team!
We pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding patient experience in a warm and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional care while assisting our dental providers with various procedures and ensuring an efficient daily workflow.
Job Summary:As a valued member of our team, you will assist the hygienist and dentist during patient care, manage clinical setups, and support daily office operations. We are looking for someone who is passionate about patient care, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and grow in the dental field.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare and maintain dental instruments, hygiene rooms, and equipment
Take and process dental X-rays (training provided if needed)
Perform documentation of medical histories and maintain accurate patient records
Utilize Dentrix software for scheduling, billing, and managing patient records (training available)
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment instructions
Manage inventory of dental supplies and maintain operatory cleanliness
Help support a smooth patient flow and overall office efficiency
Provide a comfortable, friendly, and reassuring environment for patients

Experience:

Previous dental assisting experience is preferred but not required — we are happy to train the right motivated candidate!
Familiarity with general dentistry practices, medical coding, and imaging is a plus
Experience with 3D scanners is a bonus
X-ray certification is preferred but not required
Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude are essential
