Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. I'd like the person to be x-ray certified, eager to learn, and help others. Expanded functions would be great , but willing to train the right person in that pursuit.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the clinic. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. A strong emphasis on patient care and adherence to infection control protocols is essential.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Maintain aseptic technique and infection control standards throughout all procedures.
Manage patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Take and record vital signs as needed before procedures.
Provide support in pediatric dentistry, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients.
Perform dental receptionist duties as required, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Ensure that all dental equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols is essential.
Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA compliance is required.
Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus but not mandatory.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is advantageous but not required.
