Licensed Dental Assistant - Tomhave Dental Associates - Cloquet, MN

We are a 4th generation family dental practice at Tomhave Dental Associates (tomhavedental.com) and are looking for a Minnesota licensed dental assistant. We have a wonderful and supportive team and are looking to add a new position to act as an intermediary and assist between the dental operatories, sterilization, and lab duties as well as backup chair side assisting. We want you to be skilled in providing direct and indirect patient care and able to make office procedures run as smooth as possible. Work schedule is 4-days/week, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8am-5pm (Labor Day to Memorial Day) and 7am-4pm (summer hours).

Responsibilities

Welcome customers in the dental office
Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
Select and set up rooms with instruments, equipment and material as needed
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry, along with applying sealants, impressions, administering nitrous oxide, taking intraoral x-rays and CBCTs.
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Schedule appointments
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

Skills

Licensed/Registered Dental Assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
