Our unlicensed dental assistant will support both clinical and administrative functions within the dental practice under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist. This role includes assisting with basic chairside duties, sterilization, and room preparation, while strictly adhering to state regulations and Minnesota Board of Dentistry rules.

Primary Responsibilities:
Chairside Assistance:

Perform suctioning of saliva, blood, and debris during procedures.
Conduct oral irrigation and drying using an air-water syringe.
Assist in retracting cheeks and placing rubber dams as directed by the dentist.
Apply fluoride varnish under the dentist’s supervision.

Sterilization and Room Setup:

Prepare and organize the treatment room before and after procedures.
Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards according to established practices.

Support Duties:

Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the clinic environment.
Help monitor and maintain inventory of supplies as needed.

Recordkeeping:

Assist the dentist in maintaining patient records, including documenting diagnoses, treatment plans, and informed consents.
