OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist with various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Perform dental radiography as needed and ensure proper documentation of medical records.
Manage patient scheduling, confirming appointments, and maintaining an organized patient flow.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Maintain accurate medical documentation using software such as Dentrix or Epic.
Adhere to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and compliance with health regulations.
Support pediatric dentistry needs by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
Assist in endodontic procedures by preparing materials and instruments as required.
Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of general dentistry practices.
Qualifications
Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques.
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental practices.
Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic is advantageous.
Understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
Experience or interest in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
