Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage patient scheduling, including follow-up appointments and reminders.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems.
Ensure that all dental equipment is sterilized and in good working condition.
Support pediatric patients with a friendly demeanor to create a comfortable environment.
Skills
Proficiency in dental terminology and understanding of anatomy related to oral health.
Knowledge of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with endodontics practices is a plus.
Experience with 3D scanners for imaging is advantageous.
Basic understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures.
Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond appropriately to patient needs.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and team members.
A compassionate approach towards pediatric patients is highly valued.
