Overview As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will help support the clinical needs of our patients and Doctor. The duties of a Dental Assistant are very important for the functionality of our Dental offices. These duties can include patient care, recordkeeping, and appointment scheduling. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a dentist and work closely her in the day-to-day activities. Our practice is a boutique, high quality office where we pride ourselves in the time we give to each and every patient. Must have high energy and be very personable as we are a pediatric Dental office.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take medical imaging, including X-rays, as directed by the dentist.
Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Open Dental.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Support the dentist in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Collaborate with the dental team to create a positive experience for young patients.

Skills

Strong knowledge of anatomy related to pediatric dentistry.
Familiarity with infection control procedures and protocols.
Experience with medical imaging techniques.
Proficiency in using dental software such as Open Dental is preferred but not a must.
Ability to assist effectively in various dental procedures, demonstrating excellent four-handed dentistry skills.
Compassionate communication skills when interacting with children and their families.
A proactive attitude towards learning new techniques in pediatric dentistry.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required
X-ray Certification required
Easily able to learn new technologies and systems required and demonstrates a desire to learn
Expanded function certificate or willing to pursue immediately
1+ years work experience as a Pediatric Dental Assistant
Work well with a team
Knowledge of dental instruments and patient care.
Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public.
Excellent organization, prioritization, follow up, analytical and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
