Dental Hygienist Responsibilities

Conduct dental cleanings and other preventative dental care.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices.
Take and develop dental x-rays.
Maintain patient records accurately.
Perform periodontal charting.
Administer fluoride treatments.

Dental Hygienist Requirements

Registered Dental Hygienist License in Virginia (Required).
BLS Certification (Required).
Proficiency in using dental software.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Understanding of dental anatomy and four-handed dentistry.
Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Familiarity with dental assisting systems and office procedures.
Ability to relocate to Portsmouth, VA before starting work (Required).
Ability to commute to Portsmouth, VA 23707 (Required).

Dental Hygienist Additional Information

Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime.
Patient demographics: Adolescents, Adults, Children, Older adults.

Experience: 1 year of conducting dental cleanings and other preventative dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and taking and developing dental x-rays (Required). Pediatric dentistry experience (Preferred).
