Dental Hygiene Specialist Part-Time - Mi Casa Family Dentistry - Austin, TX

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled part-time Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during each visit. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, patient care, and the ability to work effectively in both general and pediatric dentistry settings. We're currently seeing 1-2 days a week with a strong preference for one day being Fridays. Our offices are open 10-6 pm on weekdays and one Saturday a month from 9-2 pm.
Duties

Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental care.
Assist in the management of medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with dentists in to enhance patient care efficiency.
Maintain a clean and organized dental office environment.
Conduct assessments of patients' oral health and report findings to the dentist.
Provide support in pediatric dentistry, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for younger patients.

Qualifications

Valid dental hygiene license in the Texas.
Proficiency in general dentistry practices and familiarity with pediatric dentistry.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical records management.
Experience in assisting within a dental office setting is preferred.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team while maintaining professionalism.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data protection.
