Responsibilities

Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patients' oral health.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Take and review medical histories, including vital signs, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Document patient treatments and maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in the development of treatment plans based on individual patient needs.
Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix for documentation and scheduling.
Collaborate with dentists to provide support during procedures as needed.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.

Skills

Proficient in dental coding and documentation review relevant to dental practices.
Strong understanding of general dentistry principles and anatomy knowledge.
Familiarity with dental assisting tasks and responsibilities.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients and provide education on oral health.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
Experience using dental software systems such as Dentrix is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
