OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our family dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of excellent communication skills, dental terminology and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in Dentrix or similar, and familiarity with insurance handling and a cheerful and professional disposition are desired.
Duties

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
Take and record patients' vital signs as needed.
Manage medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Perform dental imaging, including X-rays, while adhering to safety protocols.
Utilize Dentrix software for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
Provide support to the dental receptionist as needed, including greeting patients and answering inquiries.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental office environment.

Requirements

Proficiency in dental terminology is essential for effective communication within the practice.
Experience with Dentrix or similar dental management software is preferred.
Knowledge of vital signs monitoring techniques is beneficial.
Familiarity with aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during procedures.
Previous experience assisting in a dental setting is highly desirable.
Understanding of medical records management and medical coding is a plus.
Ability to perform medical imaging tasks, including X-ray procedures, with proper training.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
