Dental Assistant needed in our Santa Clarita, CA dental office

Job Summary
We are seeking a Dental Assistant or RDA to join our office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient management, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
• Four handed dentistry, passing instruments, knowledge of procedures. 
• Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring it is clean, organized, and compliant with aseptic techniques.
• Take and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
• Perform dental radiography as needed while adhering to safety protocols.
• Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. 
• Familiarity with medical documentation practices is required.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques in a clinical setting is crucial for maintaining patient safety.
• Experience or interest in pediatrics or pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
• Proficiency in using dental software systems.
