Registered Dental Assistant - Sonoma Valley Community Health Center - San Francisco, CA

Sonoma Valley Community Health Center (SVCHC) is a non-profit 501(c) (3), free-standing primary health care center. The Health Center provides medical care and preventative services to people of all ages: newborns, children, teenagers, childbearing women, adults and the elderly. SVCHC is the only “safety net” provider serving the residents of the Sonoma Valley and the only primary care provider in Sonoma Valley currently accepting Medi-Cal and uninsured patients.
We are seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to join our dedicated team at Sonoma Valley Community Health Center. In this role, you will support dental procedures and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our patients. Your contributions will be vital in helping us deliver high-quality dental care to the community.
Responsibilities

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with medical coding when necessary.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed.

Requirements

Current CA State RDA License.
Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
Experience in a community clinic is highly desirable.
At least one year experience working as dental assistant.
Ability to multitask and follow directions.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
