Dental Assistant (Part-Time for Fridays) - Lux Dental Center - Ashburn, VA

Come join our rapidly growing general/prosthodontic dental practice. We are a brother and sister dental team committed to providing dentistry with integrity every single day and with every single patient. As a 6-year old start-up practice, we have quickly grown in a short period of time and are looking to expand the clinical branch of our close-knit work family. The current position is for Fridays only (Friday hours are 8 AM to 2 PM).
Our ideal candidate is a calm, compassionate, and friendly dental assistant who is also a team-player. The applicant should also have great communication and people skills. High attention to detail and a strong work ethic is also required.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Dental assisting experience (1 year minimum preferred but not required)
Virginia x-ray certification
CPR certification (current)
Excellent knowledge of clinical aspects of general dentistry
Confident discussing dental issues and treatment options with patients.
Adept at fabricating temporary crowns
Willingness to learn new procedures, techniques, and systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Positive attitude, team player, and proactive
Able to organize work and multi-task
High attention to detail
Must have integrity in their interpersonal interactions and work
Good computer skills and comfortable with learning new dental software (Open Dental)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Four-handed assisting in general dentistry, prosthodontic, and surgical procedures
Educate patients in oral hygiene instruction and post-operative instructions
Update charts and enter treatment plans
Take digital x-rays
Take and pour alginate impressions
Schedule subsequent appointments
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories
Establish and develop positive rapport in all patients and staff interactions

Friday (8 AM - 2 PM)

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
