Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled part time Dental Hygienist to join our team 2 days each week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. You will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and maintaining a safe and efficient dental environment.
Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth using appropriate tools and techniques.
Utilize medical imaging to assist in diagnosing dental conditions.
Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.
Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding for effective communication within the practice.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques is an asset.
Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with an understanding of patient care specific to children.
Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
