Job Responsibilities

Create an atmosphere of comfort and safety for all patients. Ensure patients are informed throughout the hygiene treatment, with their questions answered.
Observe and identify areas of interest for the exam and enter treatment plans discussed during patient exam with Doctor.
Conduct initial oral screenings, including full periodontal charting, and oral health history review and update
Assist in identifying conditions like gingivitis, or periodontitis and determine appropriate treatment for the condition
Clean and help protect patients’ teeth and gums. Proficiency with hand scaling and Cavitron
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
Take digital X-rays, panorex X-rays, Cone Beam CT scans and Intraoral photos
Use Intraoral camera
Sterilization of dental instruments and operatory
Maintain accurate, complete digital documentation and charts on each patient
Monitor supplies

Job Skills

Proven experience as Dental Hygienist
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Diploma in Dental Hygiene
Valid licence to practice in North Carolina, current on required certifications
