Dental Hygienist - 1819 - Bhired - Elmhurst, NY

A registered dental hygienist provides preventative oral‑health services and supports dentists in patient care. In this role you will review patient health histories, screen for oral disease, perform dental cleanings, take and interpret radiographs and apply sealants or fluoride treatments. Educating patients on proper oral hygiene and diet and documenting care are central to the position. Teamwork and patient comfort are priorities.

Responsibilities Include

Reviewing dental and medical histories and assessing patients for gum disease.
Performing prophylaxis, periodontal charting and non‑surgical periodontal therapy.
Taking and interpreting dental X‑rays and applying preventive treatments such as sealants and fluoride.
Educating patients about home‑care techniques and nutrition that support oral health.
Maintaining accurate clinical notes and communicating findings to the dentist.
Monitoring equipment, keeping operatories clean and ensuring infection‑control protocols are followed.

Ideal Qualifications

Completion of an accredited dental‑hygiene program and active state dental‑hygiene license.
Certification to administer local anesthetic and take radiographs.
Excellent communication, listening and patient‑education skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Reliability for Sunday shifts and flexibility to work early (8 a.m.–3 p.m.) or late (2 p.m.–8 p.m.) hours.
