Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in patient education and maintaining optimal oral health. Responsibilities Conduct thorough dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients. Perform vital signs monitoring and medical imaging as needed. Assist the dentist with chairside procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies. Review documentation and ensure all patient information is up-to-date and accurate. Implement aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and sterile environment during procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in both general dentistry and specialized areas such as pediatric dentistry. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and medical terminology. Experience with EMR systems for efficient documentation management. Ability to perform patient assessments and provide effective patient care. Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental procedures. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health needs.
