Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced multi specialty dental practice. This position requires proficiency in various dental assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry, aseptic techniques, and familiarity with Perio/Prosth and Oral Surgery. The Surgical Assistant will work closely with the specialists to ensure efficient care while maintaining a sterile environment. Responsibilities Assist specialists during surgical procedures by preparing the necessary instruments and materials. Maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures to ensure patient safety. Perform four-handed dentistry to enhance the efficiency of dental treatments. Take and process X-rays as needed, ensuring proper protocols are followed. Provide support in endodontic procedures, ensuring patient comfort and care. Collaborate with the dental team to manage patient flow and maintain an organized clinical environment. Educate patients on post-operative care and answer any questions they may have. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Chart Notes Scheduling next appointments. Sterilizing specialized dental equipment. Experience Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, particularly in a surgical or clinical setting. Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols is essential. Experience in four-handed dentistry is highly desirable. Knowledge of oral surgery, periodonitcs and prosthodontics will be considered an asset. Previous roles as a dental receptionist or experience within a dental clinic environment will be beneficial. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are crucial for success in this role.
