Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced dental clinic environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, ensure the clinic is organized and sterile, and support patients throughout their dental experience. Your expertise in various dental practices and technologies will contribute to our commitment to excellent patient service. Duties Assist the dentist with chairside procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient management and scheduling. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Monitor vital signs and provide pre-operative and post-operative care instructions to patients. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist with pediatric dentistry as needed, providing compassionate care to younger patients. Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners. Requirements Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in using EMR systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or Open Dental is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation practices is beneficial. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Strong understanding of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques within the dental environment. Certification in radiography for taking X-rays is required.
