Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant/Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional front office and chairside assistance, ensuring smooth patient flow and delivering high-quality care across a variety of dental procedures. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) using digital imaging systems, including 3D scanners when applicable, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance claims and billing processes. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control standards and OSHA regulations. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing patient flow efficiently. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric patients when necessary. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures. Keep up-to-date with advancements in dental technology and terminology to enhance service quality. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as E Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures preferred but not required. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy at all times. Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and support chairside assisting seamlessly during complex procedures like prosthodontics or endodontics. Certification in CPR/BLS is required; additional certifications in medical terminology or medical records management are advantageous.
