Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Columbus, OH

Basic Function Responsible for assisting the Doctor with dental functions as well as the preparation/clean up of treatment areas. Responsibilities 1. Seat, prepare and dismiss patients as well as provide oral or written pre-operative and post-operative treatment instructions. 2. Perform preparatory procedures such as taking digital xrays. 3. Assist Doctor at chairside with a variety of procedures, and maintain Doctor's work schedule and patient flow smooth between operatories. 4. Take impressions accurately and according to training. 5. Prepare work areas to include stocking, setting up, breaking down and cleaning as needed. 6. Apply knowledge and ability regarding tray/instrument/ equipment set-up, break down, management and sterilization procedures. 7. Perform handpiece sterilization and management. 8. Maintain the sterilization area to include cleaning instruments and restocking trays. 9. Set up treatment areas for appointments to include paper products, disposable and designated instruments/materials as needed for procedures. 10. Maintain general dental office equipment to include the suction system, X-ray processor and all sterilization equipment. 11. Remain aware of stock to be ordered through periodic inventories, and communicate effectively with co-workers to place orders. 12. Establish and maintain contact with suppliers and Sales Representatives regarding supplies as needed. 13. Manage new patient charts and updates. 14. Perform duties to include resetting and treating tofflemire bands, refilling cotton roll holders, refilling equilibration papers and other such activities. 15. Track all incoming and outgoing laboratory cases. 16. Prepare nightguards, crowns, bridges, partials and dentures for laboratory with a detailed list of pertinent information, and submit to Doctor for approval. 17. Receive periodontal items and prepare for Doctor and patient delivery. 18. Provide support to office personnel when primary responsibilities are completed. 19. Perform other related duties as assigned.
