Dental assistant's responsibilities include: Supporting general dentist by typically passing instruments during clinical procedures, preparing the patient for treatment, assisting during local anesthetic dental procedures, positioning suction devices, exposing dental radiographs, taking dental impressions, assisting with patient oral hygiene care, utilization of ADA specified sterilization methods, general clinical sanitary up keep in accordance with office and OSHA protocal. Basic administration roles such as scheduling patient appointments, entering patient clinical notes and maintaining patient privacy protocal in adherence with HIPPA guidelines.
